An art installation of melting ice sculptures for the Copenhagen Culture Night, 2019.
SIIKU created an art installation for the Culture Night in Copenhagen with Greenlandic nature encapsulated in ice, along with digitally projected timelapse videos and dynamic LED-lighting. The two slowly melting ice sculptures were each coupled with a digitally projected, pre-recorded timelapse of a similar ice sculptures, giving visitors a taste of what was to come as the sculptures continued the melting process.
Children and adults alike felt an urge to take a closer look, shine a light and even touch the melting objects, loosing themselves in tiny details of the ice encapsulating natural items, frozen in time. 1529 people visited the installation over the course of 6 hours.
